Citimark Properties, developer of Gladstone's largest new residential land development, Emmadale Gardens, has welcomed the Federal Government announcement to increase the First Home Buyers' grant.

Geoff McWilliam, Director of Residential Land at Citimark Properties said the Federal Government was to be congratulated for the stimulus package, particularly the increased first home buyer's grant.

"We join the housing industry in applauding Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and Treasurer Wayne Swan for the initiative for tripling the first home buyer's grant," Mr McWilliam said.

"It's an acknowledgment that young couples and families trying to get into the escalating property market are struggling to take that first step. $21,000 for a new dwelling makes the decision to build a lot more attractive."

Along with the recent interest rate cuts in September and early October, there is no better time for Gladstone residents to build their new home.

"Emmadale Gardens is family-friendly haven in New Auckland. We are getting strong interest from local families looking to move into their dream home in a new Gladstone estate," Mr McWilliam said. And with the construction of Kirkwood Road, the trip to the town's centre and nearby beaches is made even more convenient.

"As developers of Emmadale Gardens, Citimark Properties is working with local builders to develop a new family friendly estate that works hand-in-hand with the environment."

Emmadale Gardens Sales and Information Office on Koowin Drive, New Auckland is open 10am to 5pm from Saturday to Wednesday. The office can be contacted on 1800 77 658 or via email. Further information is available at www.emmadale.com.au.
